YHWH, by the hand of Moses, commanded the children of Israel to keep the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits as well as the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, & the Feast of Tabernacles (Booths).
Leviticus 23
On the 14th day of Abib (Mar/April), YHWH slew of the firstborn of Egypt and passed over the house of the Israelites. (Ex. 12:1-14, Ps. 78:51-52)
Yahshua Ha Mashiach died on Passover 33 AD. Christ became our Passover lamb replacing the sacrifice of the unblemished lamb. (Matt. 27:45-50, 1 Cor. 5:7)
At the Messiah's last Passover meal (aka the Last Supper), Yahshua instituted the symbolic eating of his body and drinking of his blood (unleavened bread and wine) as a new way to keep the Passover feast. (Matt 26:26-29; I Cor 11:23-26)
During these 7 days, we must eat bread with no yeast and throw out all bread (consumables) with yeast. The 1st and 7th days of this feast are Sabbaths. Yahshua remained in the grave resting on this day. (Ex. 12:19-20; Luke 23:54-56)
Old Testament:
It was on this day, the day after the Passover, that YHWH led Moses
and the Israelites out of bondage from Egypt. The children of Israel baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt. The bread was not leavened because the people were thrust out of Egypt and could not tarry neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.
(Ex 12:34-39, Ex. 13:3-7).
New Testament:
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Cor 5:7-8, Gal. 5:9)
It was on the Feast of First Fruits that Yahshua rose from the dead. He became the first to have a new, eternal body. Today, Messianic Israelites bring forth spiritual First Fruits in the new souls baptized unto Yahshua.
Old Testament:
On the 16th day of Abib, Israelites are commanded to bring the first fruits of the harvest to YHWH forever. (Lev. 23:9-14)
New Testament:
Christ became the First Fruits among many brethren that will be resurrected from the dead (1 Cor 15:20-23) It was on this feast that Yahshua's resurrection took place which happened to be the 1st day of the week in 33 AD. (John 20:1, 17-20)
And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto YHWH thy Elohim with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give unto YHWH thy Elohim, according as YHWH thy Elohim hath blessed thee. (Deut. 16:10)
Commonly known as Pentecost, which literally means fiftieth, this feast comes seven Sabbaths and a day after the Feast of Unleavened Bread. (Lev. 23:15-22)
It is on this feast day that the Holy Spirit was bestowed upon the apostles and gave them the ability to speak in various languages (tongues). The people that were there heard and understood each man in his own language. (Acts 2:1-11)
Often churches assume that “speaking in tongues” means to recite gibberish. This is not valid. A tongue is a language, as in the statement: “English is my native tongue.”
And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto YHWH. (Lev. 23:23-25)
It is the one day that YHWH commands that we fast (do not eat or drink for 24 hours). It is a day of prayer and asking for forgiveness for the year’s sins. It is the Holiest Day of the year for the children of Israel. (Lev. 16:29-34, Lev. 23:26-32)
The longest feast of 8 days. This is our heavenly father’s time with us in the first wilderness where the children of Israel had to dwell in booths. We look forward to celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles in the new temple of YHWH in Yahshua’s kingdom. (Lev. 23:39-44)
Males Appear on the 1st Day of Tabernacles
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is he the Elohim (God) of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing it is one Elohim, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. Do we then make void the law through faith? Elohim forbid: yea, we establish the law.
